Colour Bias

Colour Bias or Hue

The three colour  paint pallet could be the reason for the Muddy or toned down colours invading your paintings. As paint in a reflective light Paint Purity is not a perfect and all colours have some other colours hiding in the background. often you can see the hidden colour when you add white.

So a Cadmium Red medium Pthalo Blue red shade can make a good deep purple but a Cadmium Red medium Pthalo Blue green shade will make a muted purple.

Selecting  1 primary colour from the warm and 1 primary colour from the cool side will provide a greater range of colors and colour tones control. 6 colour pallet instead of a 3.
